CORKonLINEN colouring is the last step of the process,but keep in mind that you don’t have to use colour.
If colours are used, we develop them ourselves as well. All colours we use must be natural and compostable, thus doing no harm. This is the limitation we gave to ourselves. By creating CORKonLINEN we want to do things in the most sustainable way possible. This cannot be compromised when it comes to colours.
Colours can be applied at the last step or the cork can be coloured before. The technique used depends on the visual effect wanted for the final tissue.
Natural CORKonLINEN colouring
To colour the CORKonLINEN tissue we decided to only use natural colours. This adds quite a challenge to the manufacturing process and we are not able to produce avery colour possible. But at the same time this limitation assures that the final material will be fully compostable.
To make a new and innovative material is one thing. To keep it natural from A to Z is another. We accepted this challenge to avoid any greenwashing, confusion or other.
